There are a lot of adjuncts working at queens college and I had no idea until this class that their was a difference between adjuncts and professors. The word adjunct is defined as, “something that is added to something but is not essentially of it.” This definition is basically stating that Adjuncts carry all the responsibilities as a full time faculty member but isn’t considered apart of the full time faculty at the college they teach. It is completely unfair because they teach the same amount of work loads as other professors but they don’t receive the pay or benefits as a professor. For the most part in my experience adjuncts are easier to related and get along with as oppose to professors. Adjuncts really come to class with loving their jobs where most professors seem completely miserable and hate every part of their jobs. I can only speak for my experience and I think that adjuncts should receive the same as professors because it doesn’t seem fair.
